2011 TRENDS

The Row and Preen so far are the shows that have caught my attention.

Also,

first Tunisia,

Then Egypt,

now Iran.

The New Yorker comment Democratic Movements a month and half ago predicted the future.

It seems wrong to talk about politics and fashion on the same post,

but who said that they were not related.

HIDING WITH BEAUTY

“Large-scale color photographs from 2005 to 2006 reflect the ritual adornment and spirituality of masquerade in Nigeria, Benin and Burkina Faso in West Africa. These portraits of masqueraders build on Galembo's work of the past twenty years photographing the rituals and religious culture in Nigeria, Brazil, Cuba, Jamaica and Haiti, as well as the homegrown custom of Halloween in the United States. This is classic and stunningly beautiful,

And at the same time unexpected,

"She wore dark bubble shades. For a moment she'd wondered if the seal around her sockets were tight enough to allow the tears simply to go on and fill up the entire lens space and never dry. She would carry the sadness of the moment with her that way forever, see the world refracted through those tears, those specific tears, as if indices as yet unfound varied in important ways from cry to cry"
Thomas Pynchon- The Cry Of Lot 49.

from my part, I am less concern with crying and more excited by the color soon to be used on my lips.

DONE WITH WINTER

I am sick of the weather and I want spring to be here. therefore all I can think of is wanting to wear this:

outfits from the summer Lavin Acne Collections.

Also, I just saw the COMME de GARCONS mailer floating around in a blog. Does anyway have anything to say about this? I guess they commission the Quay Brother to do it.

I think it looks like the scary dolls horror theme is back in the worst of ways. I love COMME!!!! but I guess this has fallen into another category. what do you think?
