Aida, Ian, Jorge and Maurice are organizing an exhibition at Modafoca's gallery of local graphics of the Dominican Republic (guys, if you would like to describe the content of the exhibit on a more explicit way please do on a comment). Anyways, I was invited to participate with my haitian street vendors canvas clutches. Today, three of this guys were ship to the DR and here is a sneak pick of how they turn out. If you are in the DR next Thursday you definitely should go to the exhibit. I believe it would be awesome!
The idea behind the bags is to re-appropriate something that is so common on the streets of the DR and has erroneously been attribute to our visual culture into a fashion item.
