I went to the ICA on wednesday to see kate Gilmore talk about her work. Kate is a video artist with a master on sculpture from SVA. These is very obvious on Kate's work which is mostly about her trying to defeat obstacles and challenges with her body. The obstacles are usually built by her and are directly related with the subject matter that she is dealing with. She can be consider as a feminist but what I liked most of her work and I guess the lecture, was how she was very articulate and clear about her pieces. It felt that each piece was very thought out down to every detail. The image below was one of my favorite videos. Maybe I am just reacting to the great colors.

Also My mom, YES MY MOM, send me some pictures of an exhibit that the dominican artist Jorge Pineda is having in Spain. I like him a lot but I would never thought that my mom (thanks mom if you are reading this) would forward me something like this. I guess she is finally seeing what I actually like and it feels awesome!
