loving Velazquez's work is for me a natural state. Las Mininas is one of the greatest master pieces of all times. He deficit rules on perspective and protocol, basically being the first artist to tell in an intelligent way to "fuck off" to the queen and king of spain. A lot of people have proclaim him one of the first conceptual painters. I don't know if this is certain but the truth is that he certainly was innovative for his time. A few days ago I found this artist Leigh Wells that take old postcard and classical Velazquez painting and deconstructs them. Strangely enough, I like this stuff a lot. Maybe because I am gemini and I feel attracted to opposite things. But most of all, I like it because it is simple, graphic and take a timeless artist to a new form. here it is:
